Violinist Ronald Lantz and pianist Laura Kargul will present two more performances of “Baroque Pearls and Romantic Gems” in March. Proceeds from both concerts will benefit charitable organizations.
The program will feature a selection of “romantic” music drawn from a span of nearly 300 years, ranging from the Baroque era through the twentieth century: Chaconne by Tomaso Vitali, Beethoven’s Romance No. 2 in F Major, Mendelssohn’s Sonata in F Minor, Op. 4, Vocalise by Rachmaninoff, and Astor Piazzolla’s Café-1930.
Journal Tribune, 2/27/19: “[Ronald Lantz’s] tone was ever rich and full, his intonation perfect and secure, and his musicianship (something one can’t teach), and above all his artistry, shone in each work he performed…. This duo sounded like one person playing two different instruments simultaneously.”
