The Penobscot Valley Music Teachers Association (PVMTA) is a close knit, Bangor area chapter. We hold three meetings a year and work in coffee dates and performance groups to stay connected and to support our practicing and performing. PVMTA students are invited to participate in our fall event that rotates between recitals, evaluations and evaluation recitals. Don’t let distance deter you from considering our chapter, members can easily join a meeting via Zoom.

Piano & String Festival
When: February 8, 2025
Where: Bay Chamber Music School, 5 Mountain Street, Camden, ME 04843
What: ​The Penobscot Valley Music Teachers Association (PVMTA) is hosting a one day Piano & String Festival at the newly renovated Bay Chamber Music School in Camden, featuring piano and string students from the PVMTA area.
​
Students have been grouped together and assigned a chamber piece in advance that will be rehearsed during the day under the guidance of coaches. Everyone will share their hard work and progress with a final musical presentation at roughly 3:30. We have 20 students participating from 10 different piano and string studios (both within and outside MaineMTA). Our hope is to encourage musical collaboration among students as well as share the benefits of our great association with new teachers.
